"Diablo Freeride Park" is gone, and here is the previous park operators take on that. Click here for full story on their side. However, Mountain Creek Bike Park opened up their Facebook page 24 hours later and announced that lift access riding will live on. check details on their Facebook page or on their site here.

Dual racing is back in the Northeast for 2012! The Gravity East Series (GES) and Launch Bike Park at Spring Mountain Ski Area will be partnering to build a dual slalom course and host a series for the 2012 race season. Click here for full details!

2011 Inaugural Beacon Mega Avalanche

The weekend of the huge snowstorm was also the inaugural Beacon Mega Avalanche, an underground, word of mouth, downhill/freeride/enduro “race”. Charging down 1550' Mount Beacon was the first part of the race, while the second half was a 2 mile road sprint where you had to chug a brew to stop the clock! I have a feeling there will be a larger turnout in years to come! Check out the article here
